Hofer Hof stands at 1,100 m above sea level, on the Chienes plateau in the Pustertal.

All around us are meadows, fragrant woods and open views of the mountains. Here the air is clear, the sounds are those of nature and the days follow the rhythm of the sun. It is the perfect place to escape the hustle of everyday life and rediscover calm and authenticity. You can relax in the sun, stroll through flowering meadows, follow the forest trails, or set off on hikes and mountain bike rides.

Our Story

Our farm has over 400 years of history. The Harrasser family has lived here for over 230 years, and in 1988 the Autonomous Province of Bolzano awarded Hofer Hof the title of Erbhof. It is a recognition we cherish with pride and continue to live every day, in the stable, in the fields and at the table.

What is an Erbhof?

In South Tyrol, the title of Erbhof (hereditary farm) is awarded by the Province to farms that have remained in the same family for at least 200 years, from generation to generation, and that are still lived in and worked by their owners today. The farm must also be a “closed farm” (geschlossener Hof), an indivisible agricultural property that passes to a single heir, so that it remains intact and can continue to support a family. There are thousands of closed farms in South Tyrol, but only those with at least two centuries of family history may bear the title of Erbhof.

For you as guests, this means staying in a place where nothing has been “staged”: the same family, the same land, the same work, generation after generation.
The plaque at the farm’s entrance commemorates this milestone.

A farm that still lives from farming

Hofer Hof is a working farm: in our barn and on the plateau we keep dairy cows, and the eggs served at the Jausestation come from our own henhouse.
You will also be greeted by our dog and a few cats that call the farm home. Here, farming is not a backdrop but the family’s daily work, and it is part of our guests’ days.
